A scholarly congress was organized on the theme of “Al-Quds during the Ottoman Era” jointly by IRCICA and the Ministry of Culture of Syria within the framework of the program “Damascus Capital of Arab Culture, 2009”. The congress was held on 25-29 June 2009 in Damascus. The papers which were presented at the congress have been collected in a volume. It contains 15 articles, in English or in Arabic, relating to subjects ranging from Ottoman administration in al-Quds in its principles and general features to sectorial studies such as on education, health and intellectual life.
