As per the Law on the Protection of Personal Data


As the Research Centre for Islamic History, Art and Culture ("IRCICA"); in accordance with with the Law on the Protection of Personal Data ("PDPL"), IRCICA, as the data controller, adopted a number of basic rules protect the confidentiality of all personal data belonging to you, www.ircica.org.tr ("Site") users. IRCICA aims to data protect of the users in the Institution by acting in accordance with these basic rules. Pursuant to Article 10 of the PDPL, this clarification text prepared to inform you about the purpose, scope, periods and other issues that may affect you regarding the processing of your personal data.

Your personal data;

  • Within the framework of the purpose requiring their processing and in a limited and measured manner in connection with this purpose,
  • By maintaining the accuracy and recent version of the personal data you have notified or as notified to us,
  • We hereby inform you that personal data will be recorded, stored, preserved, reorganized, shared with the institutions authorized by law to request such personal data and transferred to third parties, transferred, classified and processed in other ways listed in the PDPL.
​1. Procedure And Legal Reason For Collecting Your Personal Data

​Your personal data is collected by IRCICA electronically through channels such as e-mail, related websites or physically by mail /cargo.

​Your personal data; Within the services offered by IRCICA as a service provider; to fulfill its legal obligations, for reasons directly related to the conclusion of the contract and the performance of the contract, for ​the reasons stipulated in the laws and for the legitimate interest of IRCICA, and in other cases, with the express consent of the person concerned. In this context, your personal data by IRCICA; It can be collected ​during the service request, at the time the contract is concluded or in the following period, by transmitting it to IRCICA verbally, in writing or electronically, with your consent, and by creating a user record on the ​internet, recording information or making a request or complaint.

​IRCICA complies with obligations to take all necessary technical and administrative measures to prevent unlawful processing of personal data, to prevent unlawful access to data, and to ensure the appropriate ​level of security to ensure the protection of personal data.

​2. Processing and Purposes of Personal Data

​IRCICA may process the following personal data provided by the users:

    • Identity Information: Name, surname, Turkish ID number
    • Contact Information: Phone number, address, e-mail address
    • Transaction Security and Financial Information: Membership information, membership ID number, data on the date and time you use IRCICA services, invoice and payment information

​Your personal data is collected by IRCICA through different ways to carry out our activities and based on legal reasons to ensure compliance with the legislation and IRCICA policies. Your collected personal data ​will be processed by IRCICA within the personal data processing conditions and purposes specified in Articles 5 and 6 of the PDPL, for the following purposes and in a limited and measured manner.

    • Carrying out the necessary studies by IRCICA's business units in order to fulfill the activities carried out by IRCICA in accordance with the legislation and IRCICA policies and carrying out activities in this direction;
    • Fulfillment of the contract regarding the publication service offered by IRCICA;
    • Fulfillment of user requests.
​3. To Whom and For What Purpose the Processed Personal Data Can Be Transferred

​Your personal data collected within the personal data processing conditions and purposes specified in Articles 8 and 9 of the PDPL, IRCICA may transfer the publication to the cargo company deliver the ​publication to the user or legally authorized public institutions and organizations ensure legal security.

​4. Retention Period of Personal Data

​IRCICA stores personal data for the period specified in the relevant laws and regulations.

​The purpose of processing personal data has ended; if the storage periods determined by the relevant legislation and IRCICA have also come to an end; Personal data can be stored only to provide evidence in ​possible legal disputes or to assert the right related to personal data or to exercise the right of defense.

​In this case, the stored personal data is not accessed for any other purpose and access to the relevant personal data is provided only when it is required to be used in the relevant legal dispute. In this case, ​personal data are deleted, destroyed or anonymized after the aforementioned period expires.

​5. Erasure And Destruction Of Personal Data

​Your data stored within the scope of the Law on the Protection of Personal Data will be kept until the end of the maximum period specified in the relevant legislation or required for the purpose for which they are ​processed and in any case until the legal expiration of the statute of limitations. Although processed in accordance with the provisions of the relevant law as regulated in Article 138 of the Turkish Criminal Law ​and Article 7 of the PDPL, in the event that the reasons requiring processing disappear, personal data will be deleted, destroyed or anonymized under the conditions determined by the Regulation on Deletion, ​Destruction or Anonymization of Personal Data published in the Official Gazette dated 28.10.2017 and numbered 30224 or upon your request.

​6. Your Rights

​As personal data subjects, if you submit your requests regarding your rights to our Institution, the Institution will conclude free of charge as soon as possible and within thirty (30) days at the latest, depending on ​the nature of the request. In this scope:

    • To learn whether personal data is being processed,
    • Request information if their personal data has been processed,
    • To learn the purpose of processing personal data and whether they are used for their intended purpose,
    • To know the third parties to whom personal data are transferred domestically or abroad,
    • To request correction of personal data in case of incomplete or incorrect processing and to request notification of the transaction made within this scope to third parties to whom personal data is transferred,
    • Although it has been processed in accordance with the provisions of the Law and other relevant laws, to request the erasure or destruction of personal data in the event that the reasons requiring its processing disappear and to request notification of the transaction made within this scope to third parties to whom personal data is transferred,
    • To object to the emergence of a result to the detriment of the person himself/herself by analyzing the processed data exclusively through automated systems,

​In matters related to the processing of your personal data, you must submit your application to our Institution by filling out the application form on IRCICA's website, in writing or by using your e-mail address in our ​registers.
