This work published by IRCICA in its series titled “History of Arab Countries in the Light of Ottoman Archive Documents” renders accessible to researchers whose main working language is Arabic, a set of historical documents selected from the Ottoman Archive in Istanbul and relating to Algeria. The documents consist of State decrees, regulations and various reports reflecting situations and developments in Algeria in the 16th century. Therefore, they are invaluable first-hand sources on diverse aspects of the history of the country and its international relations in that period. The book, prepared by Dr. Fazıl Bayat (IRCICA), contains their images together with their Arabic translations and information about their subject matters.
