This is a scholarly study of the copy of the Holy Quran which is attributed to the time of the Fourth Caliph, Ali b. Abi Talib, and located at the Grand Mosque of Sana’a, Yemen. The book came out as the third publication in IRCICA’s series of studies on oldest copies of the Quran. It begins with a concise history of the dissemination of the Holy Quran through its copies and developments relating to script, orthography, and other physical aspects of the copies. Then it examines and describes the characteristics of the Sana’a copy.
