This publication by IRCICA is a bio-bibliography on the works of astrology written in the Muslim world during the Ottoman period (15th-early 20th centuries). It is the eighth field of science covered in IRCICA’s series on the History of Ottoman Scientific Literature. The book also contains a supplement to the first volume of the series which is related to astronomy as well as supplementary information regarding all the other volumes published in the series on mathematical, geographical, music, military arts, natural and applied sciences and medical science literature. The Introduction by Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu recapitulates the overall findings and experiences of the twenty-five years of work conducted to prepare and publish the volumes. It also reviews the main trends of the history of astrology in the Muslim world by alluding to its perception and practice in different epochs and describes the main types of works that compose the body of Ottoman astrology literature.
