    The present book offers a new methodological approach to the history of Egypt during the Ottoman period, i.e. from 1517 to 1914. Egypt was part of the Ottoman Empire for more than three centuries and thus played an important role in Ottoman politics, economy and cultural life. The book reviews this history from various viewpoints; it records the available sources, studies published, converging and divergent references or opinions on its diverse aspects.
    The book is in Arabic. It is organized in two volumes with a comprehensive thematic coverage comprised of 41 articles. The contributing authors are diversified in their specializations and cultural backgrounds. The articles are all based on original documents and first-hand sources. They were authored in various languages and translated into Arabic by IRCICA.
