This catalogue published by IRCICA jointly with the Ministry of Information of Kuwait contains the descriptions of 114 swords kept in the Topkapı Palace Museum and the Military Museum in Istanbul. These swords were used between the first and tenth centuries Hijra (7th-16th centuries A.D.). Part l is related to the swords of the Prophetsaw, the four Califs, and the companions of the Prophetsaw. Part II examines the physical characteristics of 92 swords used in different periods. Part III is devoted to swordsmiths in the history of Islam. The book contains 186 photographs and an index of the swords.
